The latest SIEMENS SCADA system for digital management of the medium- and high-voltage grid is in its final phase of implementation. This system will significantly enhance digital transformation, remote control, and monitoring capabilities. Through this advanced SCADA system, the dispatch centers of Elektrodistribucija and MEPSO will be interconnected, enabling more efficient and higher-quality management of the entire national power grid.

With an investment of one million euros, the state-of-the-art SCADA system provides a higher level of automation, reliability, and operational control, representing a key prerequisite for an efficient energy transition and greater diversification of electricity sources in the country. The system is particularly important at a time when an increasing number of photovoltaic plants are being connected to the distribution grid. So far, 2,963 new renewable energy connections have been registered, with a total installed capacity of 860 MW, which can, in certain situations, pose a challenge to the stability of the energy system.
